Privacy Policy

We take your privacy seriously - here's how we handle your information

Last Updated: January 2024

Look, we're architects, not data miners. At Luminar Quintho Architecture, we collect just enough info to do our job well and keep in touch with you. This policy breaks down what we gather, why we need it, and how we keep it safe.

01

What We Collect

When you reach out or work with us, we'll typically gather:

  • Contact Details: Your name, email, phone number, and mailing address - pretty standard stuff for staying connected.
  • Project Info: Details about what you're looking to build or design. We can't help much without knowing what you need, right?
  • Site Data: When you browse our website, we collect basic info like IP addresses, browser type, and which pages you visit. It's mostly to keep the site running smoothly.
  • Communication Records: Emails, messages, meeting notes - we keep track of our conversations so nothing falls through the cracks.
02

How We Use Your Info

We're not doing anything shady here. Your information helps us:

  • Respond to your inquiries and provide quotes for architectural services
  • Design and deliver the projects you've hired us for
  • Send project updates, invoices, and important documents
  • Improve our website and services based on how people use them
  • Occasionally share news about our work or industry insights (you can opt out anytime)
  • Comply with legal requirements and professional regulations in Ontario
03

Who Gets Access

We don't sell your data - that's not our business model. But sometimes we need to share info with:

Project Partners

Engineers, contractors, and consultants who're working on your project with us.

Service Providers

Hosting companies, email services, and cloud storage that help us run the business.

Legal Folks

If we're legally required to disclose information by Canadian authorities.

Professional Bodies

Ontario Association of Architects when necessary for licensing and compliance.

04

Keeping Your Data Safe

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your information. Think encrypted connections, secure servers, and limited access to sensitive data. That said, no system's 100% bulletproof, but we're doing everything reasonable to keep your info locked down.

Our team's trained on data protection, and we regularly review our security practices. We also work with reputable Canadian-based service providers who meet strict security standards.

05

Your Rights & Choices

It's your data, and you've got options:

Access & Review: Want to see what we've got on file? Just ask and we'll show you.
Corrections: If something's wrong or outdated, let us know and we'll fix it.
Deletion: Want us to delete your info? We can do that, unless we need to keep it for legal or contractual reasons.
Opt-Out: Don't want marketing emails? There's an unsubscribe link in every newsletter we send.
Data Portability: Need your data in a usable format? We can export it for you.
06

Cookies & Tracking

Like pretty much every website out there, we use cookies. They help us remember your preferences and understand how people navigate our site. Most of 'em are harmless - just technical stuff to make the site work better.

You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but heads up - some parts of the site might not work as smoothly. We also use analytics tools like Google Analytics to see which pages get the most traffic and where we can improve.

07

How Long We Keep Your Data

We don't hoard information forever. Here's the general approach:

  • Active project files: Kept for the duration of the project plus 7 years (it's a professional requirement in Ontario)
  • Inquiry info: If we don't hear back from you, we'll clear it out after about 2 years
  • Marketing contacts: Until you unsubscribe or we notice you haven't engaged in 3+ years
  • Financial records: 7 years for tax and accounting purposes
08

Kids' Privacy

Our services aren't aimed at children under 16. We don't knowingly collect personal information from kids, and if we find out we have, we'll delete it promptly. If you're a parent and think your child's given us information, please reach out.

09

Updates to This Policy

Things change, and sometimes we'll need to update this privacy policy. When we do, we'll post the new version here with an updated date at the top. For major changes, we might send you an email if we've got your address on file. It's worth checking back occasionally to stay in the loop.

Questions or Concerns?

If you've got questions about this privacy policy or how we handle your information, don't hesitate to reach out. We're here to help and happy to clarify anything that's not clear.
